Deputies responded to reports of disorderly persons fighting in the area of St Clair Blvd and the 900 block Columbia St in Algonac Saturday evening at about 7:11 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies were unable to locate anyone in the area. After searching the neighborhood, they located a subject matching the description given and discovered he had been shot earlier at a nearby residence. Deputies responded to the address given and found evidence of a shooting. Still on scene was the suspect and witnesses. Detectives were requested to the scene to conduct the investigation. The victim was transported to McLaren Macomb and treated for his wound which does not appear to be life threatening at this time. Suspect was transported to Sheriff Office for interview and lodged. The investigation is still ongoing.
