Toddler Safe After High-Speed Chase

A one-year-old child is safe after a stolen car sparked a high-speed chase from Port Huron to Chesterfield Thursday night. The vehicle was taken with the child asleep in the backseat near Pine Grove and Hancock. Police chased the juvenile suspect on I-94 at speeds over 100 mph. The chase ended in a crash off 21 Mile Road and Sugarbush. The child was checked by medics and found unharmed. The teen is now held at the Macomb Juvenile Detention Facility.

Teen Fleeing Causes Fatal Crash

A 16-year-old Detroit boy faces possible adult charges after a deadly crash in Warren over a week ago. Police tried to stop a stolen car near I-94 and Gratiot, but the teen fled, leading officers on a chase onto I-696 and local roads. The chase ended when he ran a red light and crashed into a Ford driven by 28-year-old Madison Heights father Alex Habib, who later died at the hospital. The suspect was treated for minor injuries and taken to juvenile detention.
