Impaired‑Driving Arrests

Border officers in Southern Ontario have made 211 impaired-driving arrests at local border crossings since January of last year. The Canada Border Services Agency says its officers remain on alert to stop drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs before they reach Canadian roads. Recent arrests at the Blue Water Bridge in Point Edward and the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor involved drivers from Michigan and Ohio. Both were turned over to police. Officials remind travelers that impaired driving is a serious crime in Canada.
