Barber Offers Free Back-to-School Haircuts

As Port Huron students get ready to head back to class, barber Tre White is stepping up to help. On August 30th, White will offer free haircuts for boys of all school ages at Knox Field. A ’14 Port Huron High graduate, White wants to ease the back-to-school expenses for families by giving local kids fresh cuts. No appointments are needed, and walk-ins are welcome. If bad weather hits, the event will be rescheduled before school starts.

Meth Bust Nets Multiple Felony Charges

On August 1st, the St. Clair County Drug Task Force carried out a search in Riley Township on Braidwood Road. They arrested 46-year-old Joel Smith, who was caught with nearly half a pound of methamphetamine, an AR-15 rifle, ammunition, cash, and drug scales. Smith and others tried to destroy evidence during the raid. Smith was already out on bond for drug charges and now faces multiple felony counts, including drug possession with intent to sell and firearm offenses. His bond was set at $150,000.

Antique & Classic Boat Show

Port Huron will host the Antique & Classic Boat Show at James C. Acheson Marina on September 5th and 6th. The event highlights vintage boats from Michigan brands like Gar Woods and Chris-Crafts, with a special focus this year on historic race boats from 1930 to 1990.
