A tragic accident claimed the life of a 34-year-old Kingston man in Dayton Township last Saturday. The man was riding his motorcycle east on Sanilac Road when he veered into oncoming traffic, smashing into a car driven by a 50-year-old Sandusky woman. The crash happened around 8:40 AM, leaving the motorcyclist dead and the woman with minor injuries. Local police and emergency crews rushed to the scene. Alcohol wasn’t involved in this devastating collision.

Carmello Wilson, 17, was sentenced to 22 to 32 years in prison for the ’23 murder of 19-year-old Curtis “KC” Cureton in Flint. Wilson, who was charged as an adult despite being 15 at the time, shot Cureton in a parking lot near the intersection of Lapeer Avenue and 13th street, after claiming he acted in self-defense. Wilson said he feared Cureton, but the prosecution pointed out contradictions in his story, including photos where he was seen playing with a gun.

A piece of agricultural land in Marysville could soon see new development. Interstate Capital is eyeing the plot along Range Road, between 18th Street and Cuttle Road, for a project that could include manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution. The first building would be constructed for $75-90 million, with more to follow once it’s sold. Marysville Mayor Hayman highlighted that Interstate Capital will pay for water and sewer infrastructure, offering benefits like new jobs and tax revenue.
