Ogilvie Murder Case

A year after Brad Ogilvie went missing, Sarnia police arrested three people in connection with his murder. His father, Glenn Ogilvie, expressed mixed emotions, saying the news was devastating but not unexpected due to the lack of contact from Brad. Three individuals—Robin Maness, Trevor Waller, and Niki Cottrelle—were charged with first-degree murder. Brad struggled with addiction, and his father stressed the need for better support for those battling drug abuse. Police continue to search for Brad’s remains and are seeking public assistance.

St. Clair County Sheriff Lawsuit

St. Clair County has officially responded to a federal lawsuit filed by former Sheriff’s Lt. Scott Jones. The county disputes Jones’ claims that he was unfairly pushed into retirement after reporting Sheriff Mat King’s brother’s arrest and alleging retaliation for his HR complaint. The county admits some facts, such as the sheriff’s call to Jones about the arrest, but denies any misconduct or retaliatory intent. The county argues Jones should have followed protocol by taking Marcus King to the St. Clair County jail instead of Lapeer County.
