Sarnia’s New Tech Hub

Sarnia’s Alexander Mackenzie Secondary School (AMSS) will host a new tech hub for Grades 10-12 starting September. The Lambton Kent District School Board will offer hands-on learning in trades like construction, health, and hospitality. The initiative aims to meet the demand for skilled trades education. AMSS features state-of-the-art facilities, including a commercial kitchen and hairstyling classroom. The tech hub provides specialized programs and certifications, benefiting students across Lambton County. Tours for families are scheduled for February 20th.

Croswell City Council Changes

Longtime Croswell City Clerk Suzanne Dobson and Treasurer Susan Vallee announced their retirements at last Monday’s council meeting, with end dates set for March 31st and April 18th, respectively. Both were praised for their years of service. City Administrator David Tait will review job descriptions and provide updates soon. Meanwhile, Denise Slone was reelected as mayor pro tempore after a 3-2 council vote and was sworn in by Dobson. The next council meeting is set for February 3rd, at 7:30 p.m.
