A Battle Creek man wanted on multiple warrants was arrested Friday in Emmett Township after a deer hunter reported suspicious behavior near his four-wheeler, according to Michigan State Police. The 28-year-old suspect, already involved in a dangerous hit-and-run earlier that morning, had fled into the woods after ramming his girlfriend’s vehicle multiple times and causing a multi-car crash on Michigan Avenue. Police from several agencies, already searching the area, quickly located and arrested him after the hunter’s tip. Authorities praised the hunter’s vigilance.

After visiting eight local schools and receiving hundreds of creative suggestions, the winning name came from four local students—Ben, Greyson, Matthew, and Syer. To celebrate, officers surprised the winners with framed photos of their submissions, a chance to meet Axel, and a pizza party for their class.
