In Port Huron, a competitive election is underway as nine candidates vie for three city council seats today. Macomb County Road Funding

Macomb County is pursuing nearly $3 million in federal funding to resurface Jefferson Avenue, a vital road stretching from William P. Rosso Highway to 23 Mile Road. Travis Stone Drug Arrest

Travis Stone, a 39-year-old man from St. Clair County, was arrested after a police raid uncovered a stash of illegal drugs at his home. Authorities from the Drug Task Force found significant amounts of methamphetamine, LSD, and mushrooms, along with a handgun and ammunition. Stone faces seven charges as a repeat offender, including operating a drug house and illegal possession of a firearm. He is currently held at St. Clair County Jail on a $50,000 bond and will return to court today.

St. Clair County Home Sales

In St. Clair County, home sales saw a decline in August, with the median sale price dropping to $216,000, down 4.4% from July. This reflects a significant 20.4% drop in recorded sales, falling from 235 to 187 transactions compared to last year. Despite this downturn, prices for single-family homes rose 13.2% since August ’23. In contrast, the market for condominiums and townhomes thrived, with prices increasing by 21.7% from July to a median of $292,000.
