Fake “Michigan DMV” Scams

The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office warns local residents about a new scam targeting drivers. Scammers are pretending to be from the “Michigan DMV,” but Michigan doesn’t have a DMV—driver services are handled by the Secretary of State. These scammers call or text, claiming urgent issues with your license or registration, asking for personal information or payment. If you get one of these calls, hang up immediately and contact the Secretary of State’s Office to verify. Stay alert to protect your personal information.

Bridge Expansion Brings Changes for Drivers

On Monday, Port Huron drivers will noticed big changes near the Blue Water Bridge due to its plaza expansion. The Michigan Department of Transportation has restricted the Pine Grove ramp to cars only and, by June 15th, shifting eastbound I-94 to three lanes, reserving the left for passenger vehicles. This project rebuilds roads, adds noise walls, and aims to improve safety while creating local jobs, all without raising taxes. This work is part of Component 1 of the BWB plaza expansion project.
