Sarnia-Lambton Volunteers Needed
Residents in Sarnia-Lambton are being urged to step up and help neighbors battling cancer get to treatment. The Canadian Cancer Society says its Wheels of Hope program needs more local volunteer drivers right now. Many patients struggle to make appointments due to health, cost, or lack of transportation. Volunteers can choose flexible schedules, committing just a few weekdays each month, and mileage is reimbursed. Anyone interested can sign up online at volunteercancer.ca or email volunteer@cancer.ca to get involved.

I-69 Bridge Repairs
Drivers near Emmett and Wadhams in St. Clair County should plan for some slowdowns on I-69. Starting today, the Michigan Department of Transportation will close one lane in each direction on the highway for bridge repairs over the south branch of the Pine River. The $1.3 million project includes fixing bearings, replacing part of the pier caps, and resealing joints. Work is expected to last through October. This investment will extend the bridge’s life and support about 11 local jobs. Expect delays in both eastbound and westbound lanes during the construction period.
