A Sandusky woman was arrested in Brown City last Thursday night, after a Sanilac County Drug Task Force traffic stop on Main Street. The 29-year-old tried to flee but was quickly taken into custody. Officers, with the help of a K9, found suspected Meth and Crack Cocaine in her vehicle. She’s now in the Sanilac County Jail facing multiple charges. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and remind residents to report suspicious drug activity anonymously.

From August 24th through September 7th, McDonald’s in Sarnia and Petrolia is asking customers to add a loonie to their order to help local kids get school lunches. The 20th annual Loonies for Lunches campaign supports The Inn of the Good Shepherd, which provides snacks and meals to more than 900 children each month. A fatal hit-and-run is under investigation in Cottrellville Township after 34-year-old Thomas Israel of St. Clair was found dead near his bicycle on M-29 early Monday morning. Deputies say the driver struck Israel and left the scene around 3:30 a.m. First responders confirmed he died before help could arrive. The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is now working to identify the suspect vehicle. Township officials are urging the driver to turn themselves in, calling the tragedy inexcusable.
