Woman Injured After Jeep Crashes

A Carsonville woman suffered minor injuries after crashing her Jeep late Saturday night in Elmer Township. Around 11:20 p.m., her SUV ran a stop sign at Shepherd and Marlette roads, hit a sign, landed in a ditch, and finally stopped 200 yards into a field. Sanilac deputies and Marlette emergency crews responded. She was treated at the scene and taken to Marlette Regional Hospital. Authorities say alcohol and drugs were not involved. The name of the driver is not being released at this time.

Tuscola County Deputy Thomas Peterson is back on duty after surviving a serious crash on M-24 near Blackmore Road in Fremont Township.
