Deadly Shooting Under Investigation

Tuscola County deputies are investigating a deadly shooting in Watertown Township. It happened late Thursday morning at a home on Willits Road, where a 65-year-old man was found dead. Another man, age 62, who deputies say knew the victim, was arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail. Sheriff investigators say there’s no danger to the public, but the case remains active. Agencies from Lapeer County and Michigan State Police assisted. Anyone with information should contact Detective Sergeant Nitz with the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office.

Man Faces Multiple Felony Charges

Police in Port Huron charged a 20-year-old man with several felonies after investigators say they found child sexual abuse material on his phone. Officers began looking into Edison Dihn Tran after a tip from Boyne City Police last September. Detectives say a search turned up multiple illegal images, and Tran later admitted asking underage girls online for nude photos. He was arraigned March 3rd and released on a $2,500 bond. Tran faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. His next court hearing is March 24th.

Father Charged After Gun Threat

A father is behind bars after deputies say he pulled a gun during a custody exchange in Mount Clemens. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Daronta Williamson argued with his child’s mother last week before assaulting her and threatening to shoot. He later fired shots on Michigan Avenue before being arrested without incident at Station 68. A loaded handgun was recovered. Williamson faces multiple felony charges, including assault with intent to murder. His bond is set at $100,000 with GPS monitoring required.
