Croswell Fair Wins $24K State Grant

The Croswell Fair is getting a bright upgrade thanks to a new state grant. On Thursday, the Michigan Horse Racing Advisory Commission awarded the fair $24,555 through its ’25 Equine Grant Program. The money, covering about 35% of this year’s funding, will go toward replacing track lighting. The program supports horse racing events, equine research, and aftercare, and awards are given only to long-standing, financially vetted organizations in good standing with the state.

First-Ever “Fash Bash”

Marysville’s Woodland Developmental Center is turning its gym into a runway on September 24th, for its first public “Fash Bash”. Students will model adaptive clothing from stores like Target, Walmart, Meijer, JCPenney, and Kohl’s, featuring designs with magnetic closures, sensory-friendly fabrics, and accommodations for medical devices. St. Clair County TEC cosmetology students will handle hair, makeup, and nails, giving the event a true runway feel. The show celebrates self-expression and confidence, supported by a $1,200 Community Foundation grant.
