S.J. Organic Farms in Peck landed a big boost from the state. The Sanilac County business received nearly $99,000 through Michigan’s Last Food Mile grant program. The money will let them buy a refrigerated delivery vehicle so they can bring fresh organic produce, eggs, meat, and baked goods straight to local families. Customers in Marlette, Lexington, Port Huron, Davison, and Peck will have easier access to this nutritious food. This is one of only 21 projects funded statewide after more than 130 applications.
