A man crossing Lapeer Road in Port Huron Township was struck by a vehicle Wednesday night. St. Clair County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the 3600 block of Lapeer shortly after 8:00 p.m. When they arrived, they observed a man that had been struck by a 2007 Saturn Aura, lying on the side of the road. The currently unidentified man is described as white, approximately 6 feet tall, thin build and possibly in his 60’s. He was transported by Tri-Hospital EMS to Lake Huron Medical Center in Port Huron. The driver of the car, an 18 year old Kimball Township man and his two passengers told deputies that the man walked right in front of their vehicle as they were heading eastbound. The man was walking south across the road. The driver stated he tried to stop, but didn’t have time. The crash remains under investigation.
