PFAS Detected in Thompson Pond Fish

In Port Huron Township, over 50 residents crowded the boardroom on Monday to hear about toxic PFAS chemicals, known as “forever chemicals,” found in Thompson Pond. High levels in fish triggered a “Do Not Eat” advisory from the Michigan health department. Testing continues to check if these chemicals, linked to health risks, have contaminated local drinking water wells. The pollution source is still unknown, but officials are investigating and plan more tests and community updates.
