Police Investigating Possible Murder-Suicide in Port Huron

The Port Huron Police Department is investigating the death of two people inside a home in the 3000 block of Cooper Avenue. On Monday, October 21, 2019 at approximately 8:30 p.m. the Port Huron Police Department responded to a Welfare Check. They found a six-year-old male deceased inside the home, as well as his 35-year-old father, both Port Huron residents. The Major Crimes Unit and Criminal Investigative Division were called to the scene. Preliminary investigation shows evidence that a handgun was used in what appears to be a murder-suicide. The Medical Examiner’s Office has been contacted and will make a final ruling on the cause of death.
