Port Huron has recovered a historic cannon stolen from Lakeside Cemetery over 50 years ago. The cannon was spotted for sale on social media by a local collector who alerted police. After confirming its identity through Civil War records, Port Huron detectives contacted the seller in Wyandotte, who returned the cannon without incident on Monday. This marks the recovery of two of four cannons stolen from the cemetery in the 1960s, linked to the Spanish-American War. City officials will decide where to display the newly returned piece.
