Statewide Tornado Drill

It’s Severe Weather Awareness Week thru Saturday, and Michigan officials
are hosting a statewide tornado drill today. The voluntary event, set for 1 p.m.—just a day before spring begins—aims to get everyone ready for the season’s wild weather. Tornadoes hit Michigan about 15 times a year, often in late spring and early summer, leaving only 10-15 minutes to react. The Michigan State Police and MIREADY are urging locals to join in, stressing that preparation now can save lives later when storms strike.
