Swans Signal Spring

Thousands of tundra swans have touched down near Thedford Bog, marking the return of spring to Lambton County. Each year, the birds travel nearly 6,000 kilometers between Chesapeake Bay and the Arctic, using the wetlands behind the Lambton Heritage Museum as a rest stop. On busy days, up to 15,000 swans can be seen feeding in the fields. Locals can track daily migration updates at returnoftheswans.com or call the museum for viewing times. The museum’s “Return of the Swans” exhibit runs through April 4th.
