Two Port Huron Men Arraigned Following Drug Raid

Port Huron, MI – Two Port Huron men have been arraigned following a drug raid in the city of Port Huron June 9th.

According to Sheriff Mat King, the St. Clair County Drug Task Force conducted an investigation into the sales of narcotics in the Port Huron area.  The investigation ended with a search warrant being served at a residence in the 900 block of St. Clair Street last Wednesday at about 8:00 p.m.  Once inside the home, members of the DTF located and seized a dealer’s quantity of heroin/fentanyl and methamphetamine.

The two men arrested, 31 year old Chad Hamilton and 26 year old Jesse Sawdon, were arraigned Sunday in 72nd District Court in Port Huron.  Hamilton is charged with delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine, delivery/manufacture of heroin/fentanyl less than 50 grams, maintaining a drug house, resisting/obstructing a police officer and being a habitual 4th offender.  His bond was set at $75,000 cash/surety.  Sawdon is charged with possession of methamphetamine less than 25 grams and being a habitual 4th offender.  His bond was set at $25,000 cash/surety.

Both men will face a probable cause hearing on June 22nd at 9:00 a.m. in Port Huron’s 72nd District Court.

The Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team and K-9 Unit and the U.S. Border Patrol K-9 Unit also assisted at the scene of the investigation.

DTF Seizes Drugs, Gun, Cash in Raid

Port Huron Twp, MI — The St. Clair County Drug Task Force seized crack and powder cocaine, a gun and cash during a raid last week.

According to Sheriff Mat King, the DTF conducted an investigation into the sales of narcotics in the Port Huron area.  The investigation concluded on May 25th with the execution of a search warrant in the 100 block of Oldbrook Lane in Port Huron Township at about 7:00 p.m.  Once inside the residence, members of the Drug Task Force located and seized about $2800 worth of crack cocaine, about $1450 worth of powder cocaine, about $4500 in cash, a handgun, ammunition, digital scales and narcotics packaging material.

Once the narcotics were located, 50 year old Kirk Brown II was arrested without incident inside the home.  He was transported and lodged at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center.  Brown was arraigned on May 28th in 72nd District Court in Port Huron.  He is charged with delivery/manufacture of cocaine, less than 50 grams, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, felony firearm, maintaining a drug house and being a habitual 4th offender.  Bond was set at $50,000 cash/surety.  

Brown’s next court date is a probable cause hearing on June 8th at 9:00 a.m. before 72nd District Court Judge John Monaghan.

The St. Clair County Sheriff Special Response Team, Sheriff Road Patrol and U.S. Border Patrol K-9 Unit also assisted at the scene.

DTF Seizes $25,000 in Meth After Suspect Flees

Port Huron, MI — The St. Clair County Drug Task Force seized narcotics valued at over $25,000 in an investigation that concluded during the early morning hours of Tuesday.

According to Sheriff Mat King, the DTF conducted an investigation into the sales of narcotics in the Port Huron area.  The suspect, a 34 year old man from Port Huron was located driving a pickup truck in the parking lot of the Comfort Inn on Hancock Street at about 12:30 a.m.  When members of the Drug Task Force attempted to make contact with the suspect, he fled in the truck, ramming several vehicles in the parking lot.  The suspect then drove through a chain link fence out to I-94, where he got stuck in the median.  The man then fled on foot before being apprehended by the DTF.  Once he was taken into custody, members of the Drug Task Force searched his vehicle, where they located and seized $24,800 worth of crystal methamphetamine, $400 worth of analogues, over $9500 in cash and a handgun.

The suspect is lodged at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center, where he is expected to face charges including possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of analogues, possession of a firearm in commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a felon, resist and obstruct police and malicious destruction of property.

The suspect also had an outstanding felony warrant out of St. Clair County for narcotics.

Port Huron Man Arrested Following Drug Raid

Port Huron, MI — A 44 year old man has been arrested and lodged at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center following a drug raid.

According to Sheriff Mat King, the St. Clair County Drug Task Force conducted an investigation into the sales of crystal methamphetamine in the Port Huron area.  The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant in the 2500 block of Spruce Street in the city of Port Huron on March 1st shortly after 9:30 p.m.  Members of the DTF searched the residence, where they located and seized about $5700 worth of crystal methamphetamine, about $600 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned in 72nd District Court this afternoon, facing charges of possession with intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine.

DTF Busts Man With Meth in Port Huron

(Port Huron Township)  A 24 year old Berlin Township man has been arraigned on drug and other charges in St. Clair County District Court.

According to Sheriff Mat King, the St. Clair County Drug Task Force conducted an investigation into the sales of methamphetamine in the Port Huron area.  The investigation culminated on January 7th at approximately 8:00 p.m., when members of the DTF executed a traffic stop in the area of 24th Street and Griswold in Port Huron Township.  They made contact with Dustin Conlee and discovered that he had approximately $1000 worth of crystal methamphetamine in his possession.  Conlee also had an unregistered .38 handgun in his vehicle.

Conlee was arrested without incident and transported to the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center.  He was arraigned in 72nd District Court and charged with delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine, carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearm.  Bond was set at $20,000 cash/surety.  Conlee is scheduled to be back in court on January 19th at 9:00 a.m. for a probable cause hearing before District Judge John Monaghan.  

Conlee also faces a bond violation hearing for violating conditions of bond on an earlier methamphetamine possession case.

DTF Arrests Man on Counterfeiting and Meth Charges

Port Huron, MI — The St. Clair County Drug Task Force arrested Benigno Santana, a 47 year old Port Huron man, on July 27th on a pair of warrants. The warrants included a circuit court bench warrant for failing to appear for sentencing on a conviction for delivery of methamphetamine along with a federal warrant regarding counterfeiting operations.

The suspect was arrested after being pulled over for a traffic stop and bailing out of his vehicle to hide in a residence in the 1100 block of Gillett Street in Port Huron. After the Drug Task Force received permission from the homeowner to enter the residence, the man was located and arrested without incident. 

Following the arrest, the DTF located about $23,000 worth of crystal methamphetamine along with several computers, printers, and storage devices believed to be used in the suspect’s counterfeiting operation the DTF and Secret Service had been investigating earlier this year.

Sheriff Tim Donnellon said, “I am extremely please and proud of our cooperative effort with the United States Secret Service. This investigation not only led to getting a drug dealer off the streets, but also a person ripping off business owners by passing counterfeit money.”

The suspect was arraigned on July 29th in 72nd District Court in Port Huron, and he is charged with delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine, resisting and obstructing police, use of police radio receivers/scanners in commission of a felony, and being a habitual 4th offender.

His bond has been set at $250,000 cash/surety, and he is scheduled for a probably cause hearing before Judge Mona Armstrong on August 4th. He is also expected to be arraigned on the Secret Service warrant at a later date.
