Traffic Stop in Port Huron Leads to Meth Seizure

Port Huron, MI — A traffic stop conducted by the St. Clair County Drug Task Force on July 14th ended with the seizure of methamphetamine and an arrest.

According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, members of the DTF executed a traffic stop at about 8:30 p.m. at 10th Avenue and Glenwood Street in the city of Port Huron.  The driver and sole occupant of the car, 31 year old Kevin Brody Junior of Port Huron was driving on a suspended license.

A subsequent search of Brody and his vehicle led to the discovery and confiscation of about $1300 worth of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, along with a large amount of marijuana.

Brody was arrested and lodged at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center.  He was arraigned on July 16th in 72nde District Court.  Brody is charged with delivery and manufacture of crystal methamphetamine, 2nd offense, maintaining a drug house, 2nd offense, driving while license suspended, 2nd offense and being a habitual 4th offender.

Bond was set at $75-thousand, 10% cash/surety.  Brody’s next court date is a probable cause hearing scheduled for July 28th at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Mona Armstrong.

The Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit also assisted at the scene of the traffic stop.

Two Arrested in Port Huron Twp. Drug Bust

Port Huron Twp., MI — Two Port Huron men are lodged at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center after being arrested by the St. Clair County Drug Task Force on June 29th.

According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the DTF conducted an investigation into the sales of narcotics in the Port Huron area.  That investigation led to members of the Drug Task Force making contact with subjects inside a vehicle at the 40th Street Pond in Port Huron Township at about 8:30 Monday night.  The driver of the vehicle had a valid parole absconder warrant.

As a result of the investigation and a search of the suspect’s vehicle, nearly $1000 worth of methamphetamine was seized, along with analogue drugs, heroin, a .22 semiautomatic handgun, drug paraphernalia, and more than $2500 in cash.

The arrestees, ages 29 and 22, are expected to be arraigned today on charges including possession of methamphetamine, possession of analogues, possession of heroin, felon in possession of a firearm and parole violation.

Two Arraigned Following Drug Raid

Port Huron Twp, MI — Two people are lodged at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center following an investigation by the St. Clair County Drug Task Force.

According to Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the DTF conducted an investigation into the sales of methamphetamine in the county.  That investigation ended with the execution of a search warrant at the Quality Inn Hotel on Yeager Street in Port Huron Township shortly before midnight on June 10th.

Members of the Drug Task Force entered a hotel room, where they located and seized about $1100 worth of methamphetamine, analogue drugs, a large amount of cash and drug paraphernalia.

The two subjects arrested, 36 year old Megan Green of Sterling Heights and 34 year old Brandon Burck of Fort Gratiot were arraigned Friday in 72nd District Court.

Green is charged with delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of analogues, maintaining a drug house and being a habitual 4th offender.  Burck is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of analogues, maintaining a drug house and being a habitual 4th offender.  Both Green and Burck are also on parole.  They are both being held at the IDC on $50,000 cash/surety bonds, along with the parole holds.

Both are next scheduled to appear in 72nd District Court for probable cause hearings before Judge John Monaghan on June 23rd at 9:00 a.m.

Suspect Arraigned in Drug Related Shooting in Algonac

Marine City, MI — A suspect in a drug related shooting in the city of Algonac in November of last year was arraigned on Wednesday, May 27th in 72nd District Court in Marine City.

According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, 34 year old Ricardo Galan of Westland, Michigan is charged with armed robbery, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, 2nd degree home invasion and felony firearms.

The investigation began on November 18, 2019 when deputies from the Sheriff’s Office were called to the Algonac Fire Department for a person that had been shot.  The victim, a 31 year old man, also from Westland, was transported to Ascension River District Hospital in East China Township for treatment.

Members of the St. Clair County Drug Task Force became involved in the investigation, beginning with a residence on Smith Street in Algonac.  That investigation, which was hampered due to lack of cooperation from the victim, led members of the DTF to track down leads and conduct surveillance in the city of Detroit and other locations in the counties of Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Jackson and Livingston.  The investigation culminated with the arrest of Galan in Green Oak Township in Livingston County on Tuesday.  Following Galan’s arrest, a search warrant was executed at his residence, where several handguns were located and seized.

Galan is being held at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center on a $50,000 cash/surety bond.  His next court date is a probable cause hearing at 9:30 a.m. on June 10th before Judge Michael Hulewicz.

Multiple agencies, including the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau, Port Huron Police Major Crimes Unit and the Clay Township Police Department assisted in the investigation.

DTF Arrested 9 Young Men During a Raid on Vanness St.

The St. Clair County Drug Task Force seized about $30,000 worth of methamphetamine during a raid Tuesday night.

According to Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the DTF was conducting an investigation into the sales of illicit drugs, which led them to execute a search warrant in the 2500 block of Vanness Street around 7:00 p.m. on May 5th.  Once inside, they located and seized the meth, along with $900 worth of ecstasy, $400 worth of crack cocaine and $300 worth of analogue pills.  They also seized two handguns, a rifle, a sawed off shotgun, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Members of the Drug Task Force arrested 9 men, ranging in age from 17-24 years old and took two minor boys, ages 14 and 16 into custody.  They were all later released pending warrants.  Those arrested face charges including possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver ecstasy and felony firearm.
