It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play

If you’re looking for some live holiday entertainment, check out a classic Christmas tale with Enter Stage Right coming in December.

Enter Stage Right will be performing a live adaptation of the classic, It’s a Wonderful Life. The classic story is being presented as a live 1940’s radio broadcast. It’s A Wonderful Life is a story about a man who has given up on his dreams, and is visited by his guardian angel on Christmas Eve to show him the lives he’s touched and how things would have played out had he never been born.

The show begins December 2 – 18, with tickets being $15 for adults, and $10 for children under 12 with pre-orders, prices will be slightly higher at the door. The Citadel Stage is located at 609 Huron Ave, in Port Huron.

The Underground Offering Course For New Business Owners

Many individuals may be thinking about starting their own business, but don’t quite know where to begin in the process. The Underground, located at 312 Superior Mall in Port Huron will be holding an 8 week program to help those in need get started on their dream.

Beginning Monday, December 5th, from 9 AM – 4:30 PM, The Underground will be holding their Entrepreneur Boot Camp at the St. Clair County Community College Welcome Center located at 323 Erie St in Port Huron, with a $25 fee for each participant. 

The program will help future business owners by starting with a one-day session where they will  help you get started by exploring marketing strategies, creating a minimum viable business plan, as well as business idea validation and business finance.

9th Annual Chili and Coats Giveaway Serving The Community

With temperatures plummeting, it is essential that everyone have a warm coat and accessories to bear the Michigan winter. To help meet the need, Zion Cathedral of Praise in collaboration with other community organizations, is holding their 9th Annual Chili and Coats Giveaway.

On Saturday, November 19th, the community is welcomed to attend the event located at Woodrow Wilson STEAM Academy, 834 Chestnut Street in Port Huron. The event will be held from 10 AM – 1 PM. 

Guests will be greeted with a hot bowl of chili along with the winter clothing giveaway consisting of hats, gloves, coats, and other winter clothing items. There will also be a turkey basket giveaway, as well as a food truck, so bring boxes, bags, or other items to carry your food.

Hunting Season Begins, Be Safe With These Tips

With Michigan’s firearm deer hunting season beginning yesterday, many will be out and about making their attempts at bagging that elusive buck, either for food, or simply for bragging rights. Whatever the case, make sure that you and your loved ones are safe when going out into the woods this season. 

Following these helpful tips will definitely help the novice hunter, as well as reinforce the knowledge that veteran hunters have known for awhile.

  • Make sure you inform someone of where you will be and what time you expect to return.
  • Be sure to have a reliable form of communication available.
  • Wear bright, hunter’s orange colored clothing and dress warm to avoid exposure.
  • Be sure your firearms are well maintained and obey basic gun safety.

These are just a few tips to help keep you safe as you enjoy this hunting season.

Visit The Moon With St. Clair County Community College

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hop in a space shuttle and blast off into the unknown regions of space? St. Clair County Community College (SC4) is offering a simulated experience for those who have always wanted to visit and explore the moon.

Mission: Lunar Quest begins Saturday, December 10th, from 10 AM – 12:30 PM at the Challenger Learning Center located on the college campus. The event is limited to the first 34 individuals who register so be sure to sign up quickly. Tickets are $25 per person and those aged 10 and up are welcome. 

The fully immersive experience will allow guests to fly to the moon to locate a long-term human habitat, commands and assist Mission Control, or board the spacecraft as an astronaut. You will also be able to make critical decisions to avoid a potential catastrophe. 

The Challenger Center is one of 40 centers worldwide, and the only one of its kind in the state of Michigan.

Local Organizations Partner For Turkey Giveaway

The holidays are fast approaching, and everyone is getting their shopping done for this year’s Thanksgiving dinner. Unfortunately, not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to afford a Thanksgiving dinner this year. 

With the help of local businesses and nonprofits coming together, you or your loved ones can attend the 10th Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway. On Saturday, November 19th, from 11 AM – 1 PM there will be a drive-through food giveaway located at the Marysville Fire Department. The event is on a first come first serve basis with 500 turkeys available, so make sure you arrive early. 

The giveaway is possible through the combined efforts of SOS Marysville Food Pantry, Marysville Meijer, Beacon Wealth Group, City of Marysville Fire/Police Department, and Community Wesleyan Church.
