Learn Life Saving Procedure For Your Animal Friends

In the event of a medical emergency are you prepared, or qualified to administer a life saving practice to someone in need? What about if that someone isn’t a person, but a beloved pet?

Our friends at Country Critter Farm are welcoming the community to its CPR and First Aid for Human, Animal Petting Farm. This Saturday, October 29th, you’re invited to learn how to perform life saving skills on humans from children to adults, as well as dogs and cats. Great knowledge for those who have a service animal, as you never know when the skills learned will be of use.

Guests can go through demo training or they can be certified through the American Heart Association. If you just want to stop in to enjoy the animals at the petting farm, you can do that as well.

For more information visit their Facebook page at: Country Critter Farm.

The Zombies Are Coming! SCCLS Zombie Shamble Walk

Ever wonder what the zombie apocalypse would be like? The St. Clair County Library is holding the “Zombie Shamble” walk on Saturday, October 22nd, from 11 AM – 1 PM.

The walk is an event meant for the community to have a fun time while also getting in some physical exercise. Participants will be walking from the Main Library on McMorran to Pine Grove Park and back. Along the way, participants will be lightly chased by walking zombies who seek to remove your “brain cloth,” a colored strip of cloth received when you register. Participants may opt out of the zombie chase portion and just enjoy a regular walk as well if so desired.

Enter Stage Right Presents An Adaptation Of A Sci-Fi Classic

H.G. Wells’ classic science fiction novel, The Island of Dr. Moreau is being adapted into a frightening good live performance by Enter Stage Right at The Citadel.

Directed by Regina Spain, “Moreau’s Horrors” centers around an outcast doctor who runs cruel experiments on his creations of human/animal hybrids. The play is a drama/thriller with a mature content and violence warning, so if that’s not for you be sure to steer clear of this one. For those looking for something to put them in the Halloween mood, this is right up your alley. “Our preview audiences loved the story, characters, design, and of course, our amazing special effects,” says Spain.

Each weekend from Friday, October 14th – Sunday, October 23rd, guests can catch the performance at The Citadel Stage located at 609 Huron Ave, in downtown Port Huron. Pre-purchased tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children, with prices being slightly higher at the door.
