Looking for a fun and unique activity for yourself or your child? Look no further than Apex Dance Industry’s circus program! They’re offering a free trial class on Wednesday, September 6th, from 5 – 7 p.m. Drop in any time between then with a few minutes to spare to sign a waiver, the program is available for individuals ages 4 to adult.

Please note that there is a dress code for safety purposes, so participants are asked not to wear anything with zippers, Velcro, buttons, sequins, jewelry, or anything that could rip the aerial silks.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer delivered the “What’s Next Address” speech, outlining the top legislative priorities for the fall and beyond. The address proposed policies aimed at lowering costs, growing the economy, and making a real difference in people’s lives. 

The ambitious agenda includes a 100% clean energy standard, paid family and medical leave for workers, lower health care and prescription drug costs, and protection of reproductive freedom and democracy.

“After a productive year, let’s stay focused on getting things done,” said Governor Whitmer. “Together, let’s enact paid leave and establish a 100% clean energy standard, lower health care and prescription drug costs, protect reproductive freedom, and our democracy. This is an ambitious and achievable agenda. Let’s do what we do best—roll up our sleeves and get to work.”

Tuskegee Memorial Marker Ceremony To Be Held In Port Huron

On September 16, 2023, the Blue Water Area Chamber of Commerce will host the Tuskegee Memorial Marker Ceremony at the International Flag Plaza in Port Huron. The event will begin at 11:00 AM and last until 11:45 AM. 

The ceremony will include the dedication of a new marker, which will be placed next to the Tuskegee Memorial in the International Flag Plaza. The current memorial was dedicated on August 28th, 2021.

The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of African American pilots who served in World War II. They were known for their bravery and skill, and their contributions to the war effort helped to break down racial barriers in the military. The Tuskegee Memorial currently at the plaza was dedicated on August 28th, 2021.

The marker ceremony is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend. Join in honoring the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen and their important contribution to our country.
