SC4 Career Fair Employer Registration Deadline April 4th

With the economy in such a volatile state it is hard for employers to find willing, qualified candidates to be a part of their winning team. St. Clair County Community College (SC4) is holding its 2023 Career Fair next month that may help employers find the perfect applicant for their business.

The SC4 Career Fair takes place Tuesday, April 18th, from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the SC4 Fieldhouse. 

Employers who take advantage and register will be able to meet with qualified SC4 graduates, students and community members, meet with eager high school seniors, and also post their positions on SC4’s Career Coach to extend their reach.  

Employers must register and pay by Tuesday, April 4th. Registration is $175 and includes up to two representatives and lunch. Limited spaces available.

Blue Water Young Professionals Invite You On A Tour Of The Wrigley Center

If you live in the Blue Water Area you may have heard about the new $14 million dollar investment The Wrigley Center located in downtown Port Huron. If you haven’t heard about it, The Blue Water Young Professionals would like to invite you on a tour to check out one of the city’s newest and exciting projects.

From a vacant building in 2021 to its nearly complete state, the Wrigley Center will offer housing with the Wrigley Center Lofts, as well as shopping and entertainment at the still under construction Wrigley Hall.

The exclusive tour, which is designated for young professionals in the area between the ages of 21-35, will be hosted by Korissa Kramer of Kramer Realty who will be providing refreshments, snacks, and a bit of socializing before the tour begins. 

Those participating in the tour will meet at the Wrigley Center in Apt #410 at 5:30 p.m.

Port Huron’s 2023 Spring Art Hop Artist Registry Deadline April 2nd

If you’re an artist and are unfamiliar with Port Huron’s annual Art Hop event you’re missing out on one of the best events to promote and display your artistic abilities. With only a few days left to register you may want to act now.

Art Hop is held twice a year, once in spring and again in the fall. It features artwork from local artists along with food, fun, and celebration of the community.

It will be taking place Friday, May 12th, from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. in downtown Port Huron. 

The deadline for artists who would like to participate and show off their works is April 2nd, so if you or the artist in your life are interested there is a $25 deposit to secure your spot.

Free Family Fun With Sarnia’s Easter In The Park

The City of Sarnia, in partnership with the Seaway Kiwanis will be hosting their annual event Easter in the Park coming Saturday, April 8th.

Easter in the Park will take place from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the area surrounding the Children’s Animal Farm at Canatara Park.

The event will feature plenty of family-friendly activities such as egg decorating, train rides, Egg Pals Paint Station, and more. The main event is the Easter Egg Hunt that will allow children to turn in their eggs in exchange for treats. There will be a visit from the Easter Bunny as well which begins at 10 a.m. along with the egg hunt.

The entire event is free and guests will also be able to visit the Animal Farm free of charge.

The Bridge To Bay Trail Receives New Bridge Over Black River Canal

The Bridge to Bay Trail is a system of trails and pathways that extends from Algonac to Lakeport Park, and is used by many for walking, biking, and enjoying the sights and sounds of the local wildlife. 

The City of Port Huron, Community Foundation of St. Clair County, and the Port Huron Area School District have been instrumental in the planning and funding for the placement of the new pedestrian bridge being placed along the trail that will connect Port Huron Northern to Holland Woods near the Black River Canal. 

The bridge is just one piece of the $1.4 million project that will also see a new bike and trail path built in the area.

The ten foot bridge was placed over the canal on March 21st, but will not be ready for use until sometime in May.

SC4 Announces 2023 Summer Camps For Youth

Summer is right around the corner and will be here before you know it. The St. Clair County Community College is announcing their 2023 Summer Camps registration for local youth.

If you have children in grades 3 -12 then they are eligible to be a part of one of the 12+ camps available.

There are a multitude of camps to choose from ranging from athletic based programs to camps centered around STEM that will surely fit the interests or needs of your child. 

A sample of some of the camps available include:

  • Cross Country
  • Esports
  • Soccer
  • Volleyball
  • Galaxy Quest STEM Summer Camp

The camps are taught and led by SC4 coaches, student-athletes, and experts in their respective fields. The camps are expected to fill up fast, so register ASAP.
