Sarnia 2025 Steps for Life Walk

Sarnia is hosting it’s 2025 Steps for Life Walk scheduled for Saturday May 3 starting at 9am for registration and 10 am for the walk at the Kiwanis Pavilion of Canatara Park. There will be a silent auction and refreshments, and registration for the walk is free and can be completed online at https://secure3.convio.net/thread/site/TR?fr_id=1426&pg=entry
Proceeds from the walk will be donated to Threads of Life national charity that supports families of individuals impacted by workplace tragedy or illness.

United Way Of St. Clair County Celebrates 100th Anniversary And Launches 2024 Campaign

The United Way of St. Clair County is marking its 100th anniversary with a special celebration and 2024 campaign kick-off. 

The event will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Solitude Links Banquet Center located at 5810 Flinchbaugh Rd. Kimball, MI. Guests can enjoy a plated dinner, cash bar, and a historical exhibit showcasing the organization’s century of impact. The program will also feature the introduction of the 2024 Campaign Chair and plans for the upcoming fundraising efforts.

Cocktails begin at 5 p.m., with dinner and the program starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $35, and attendees are encouraged to wear casual to cocktail attire. Online registration is available at uwstclair.org.

21st Annual Empty Bowls Event Brings Community Together Hunger Awareness

Mid City Nutrition is excited to host its 21st Annual Empty Bowls event on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Colonial Woods Church, located at 3240 Pine Grove Ave, Port Huron. 

Empty Bowls is part of an international hunger awareness campaign, where local organizations host events serving a modest meal of soup and bread. Artisans from the community create beautiful bowls, which each attendee selects to keep. It’s an evening filled with generosity and a strong sense of community.

Tickets for the event are $25 and can be purchased online, at St. Clair County Community Mental Health, or Mid City Nutrition. The evening will also feature raffles and a silent auction, with all proceeds supporting the organization’s mission to fight hunger locally.

A Beautiful Me is hosting a special four-part be-YOU-tiful Workshop Series at their Training and Empowerment Suite in Port Huron. 

Designed for 5th-grade girls, the workshop runs on August 20, 21, 27, and 28 from 2:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This transformative program aims to boost self-esteem and leadership skills through engaging activities, conflict resolution strategies, and meaningful discussions.

Located at 310 Huron Ave., the workshop provides a safe space for young girls to explore their unique strengths, navigate emotions, and build positive relationships.
