The time of the year when residents are no longer allowed to park on the streets after a certain time is here once again for the residents of Port Huron.
Yes, it can be a hassle at times, but there is a good reason that the city issues the snow ordinance each year. If you’ve spent at least one winter in Michigan then you’re aware that sometimes we can get unexpected snowfall in varying degrees. To be able to combat this issue, the streets need to be free of parked cars so that snow removal vehicles can make sure the streets are safe to travel for residents.
The snow ordinance began on Thursday, November 1st. Residents are not allowed to park on paved city streets between the hours of 2:30AM – 6:00AM. The city’s snow ordinance will be in effect until March 31, 2023. Warning notices will be issued during the first 5 days as a reminder, but after that residents will be issued a $23 citation.
