UPDATED 10/31/2022: Police have arrested Jacalyn Reid, a 37-year-old Burtchville woman, and she has been arraigned on charges related to this accident.
UPDATED 9/1/2022: A suspect is being held at the St. Clair County Intervention Center in connection with the death of the Port Huron Township woman who was killed by a hit-and-run after coming to the aid of the injured bicyclist. This case is still under investigation.
8/31/2022: The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office reported the death of two individuals who were hit by vehicles on Dove Road on the evening of Tuesday, August 30th.
The accidents happened around the 3700 Block of Dove when a Marysville man struck a bicyclist and called 911 to report the incident. The bicyclist, a 56 year old man from Ft. Gratiot, died at the scene. A nearby resident, a 40 year old Port Huron Township woman, came to help the injured bicyclist, and she was struck and killed by another vehicle that fled the scene.
The Marysville man who hit the bicyclist is cooperating with police, and the investigation to locate the drive who fled is ongoing.
