Board officials anticipate a decision by spring, despite four previous unsuccessful funding requests. A new facility would be modern, energy-efficient, and fully accessible, with a proposed size of 141,988 square feet to accommodate 1,327 students. The existing school at 85 Grand Ave. W. dates back to 1957. The new location will remain within Chatham city limits.
