Voters To Decide Road And Public Safety Taxes

St. Clair County voters will decide several local tax proposals on the November ballot, with money for safer roads and emergency response at stake. In Burtchville Township, a 1-mill road renewal would raise an estimated $195,656.58 in its first year and run through 2036. Capac voters would decide a 2-mill, 4-year road and bridge tax, while Marine City would consider 2.5 mills for 3 years to support fire protection, equipment, and emergency services. Officials say the measures would fund repairs and public safety where residents live.
