Winter Registration Opens at Port Huron Parks And Recreation

Snow where to go this winter—the Port Huron Parks and Recreation released its winter brochure with information on its upcoming programming and events. Registration opens December 3. The department is offering a variety of programs that will delight both children and adults.  Kids can stay active this season with programs such as fencing, karate, and the Play with the Pro’s introduction to hockey program featuring players from the Port Huron Prowlers. Adults can also keep active with yoga classes taught by instructors from Happy Dog Yoga.  The department is offering many ways to get creative once the snow falls. Families can join programs like Kid’s Cook off, Snowflake Fun Holiday Decorations class and even learn how to make your own Bath Bombs and Sugar Scrubs in a special winter apothecary’s class.  Families can enjoy events such as the annual Daddy Daughter Dance or Mother-Daughter Princess Tea. Kids will love Cocoa Snow Days when they have a day off school (PHASD students only) and the new Blizzard Bash where kids get the chance to create their own snow. Also offered this season; community members can learn about their family and history at genealogy seminars presented by the St. Clair County Family History Group.  The department will also be offering a babysitting class, playgroup and the annual Cabin Fever event series.  Registration is available at Palmer Park or at www.porthuronrec.com. Additional information can be found on www.porthuronrec.com or by calling the Recreation Department at 810-984-9760.
