Woman Sentenced In Animal Cruelty Case

A Clyde Township woman is heading to jail after investigators found nearly 100 dead animals on her property. St. Clair County Circuit Court Judge Daniel Damman sentenced 48-year-old Connie Wonner Monday to 15 days behind bars and 2 years probation on animal cruelty charges. The judge also barred her from owning any animal, even a fish, during probation. Investigators say surviving animals on the property had no water, no protection from the cold, and were living in urine-soaked bedding.
