St. Clair County Community College had a big academic year, as the NJCAA recognized 36 student-athletes and eight teams for their classroom success. The total marked an increase from last season and gave SC4 its strongest showing in years. Eight Skippers made the First Team with perfect 4.0 grade-point averages, while 14 earned Second Team honors and 14 more landed on the Third Team. To qualify, athletes had to complete at least 24 credit hours and post a GPA of 3.60 or higher.

Construction has started on a new splashpad at Germain Park, bringing 14 exciting water features to give families a fun way to cool off this summer and beyond. The $535,000 project, part of the park’s bigger revitalization plan, is funded by federal, provincial, and city dollars along with a $100,000 gift from the Rotary Club of Sarnia-Bluewaterland. Once finished, the splashpad will offer a safe, refreshing spot for children of all ages right in the heart of the city’s 60-acre park.
