Have You Seen Her?

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is asking for help from the public to locate a missing teenager.  18-year-old Rabia Foxworth went missing a year ago on Dec. 14, 2017.  She was last seen in Southfield, MI and may frequent areas throughout Detroit, MI.  Rabia is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a tattoo on her chest, a piercing in her right nostril and her ears are pierced.  Anyone with information about Rabia is asked to contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678 (1-800-THE-LOST) or the Southfield Police Department (Michigan) at 1-248-796-5500.

 

21st Annual Low Cost Vaccination Clinic

The Blue Water Area Humane Society is hosting the 21st Annual Low Cost Vaccination Clinic for low-income families and individuals. On Saturday January 19 from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at 4100 Griswold in Port Huron between Range and Michigan Road.  Cost is $5 each for 2 dogs, and $10 for each addition dog rabies, distemper and parvo, and $5 each for 2 cats and $10 for each additional cat for rabies and RCP.  Dog licenses will not be on sale.  Microchipping is available for $15.  You must be a resident of St. Clair County, have picture I.D. and current proof of income and meet low-income guidelines.  You can call the Blue Water Area Humane Society for income guidelines.  All dogs must be leashed and all cats in carriers.  For information, call the Blue Water Area Humane Society at 6266 Lapeer Road in Clyde at 810-987-4357.

Homeland Security Emergency Management Director – Reappointed To Advisory Committee

The National Archives and Records Administration’s Information Security Oversight Office has informed HSEM Director Jeff Friedland that he has been reappointed to the State, Local, Tribal, and Private Sector Advisory Committee in which he will continue to serve as vice-chair. The committee was established under Executive Order 13549 “Classified National Security Information Program for State, Local, Tribal and Private Sector Entities” is established to discuss program-related policy issues in dispute in order to facilitate their resolution and to otherwise recommend changes to policies and procedures to remove undue impediments to the sharing of information under this program. His term expires November 20, 2022.

Forty-Two Students Graduate From SC4’s Practical Nursing Program

On Thursday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m., 42 St. Clair County Community College students from throughout the region celebrated their graduation from the practical nursing program during a commencement ceremony held in the college’s Fine Arts Theatre. Thursday’s commencement marked the college’s 57th graduating class since the LPN program began in 1960.  “This is a very special moment for our students and for the college as a whole,” said Patti Tibble, director of nursing at SC4. “These graduates have worked so hard to get to this point. Whether they continue their education or go straight into the workforce, I’m proud to honor their accomplishments and excited to follow their journeys as health care professionals.”   A full list of 2018 graduates, including honors and hometowns, is listed at sc4.edu. McLaren Port Huron Names Employee Of The Month

Mary Ann Koch has been named the Employee of the Month for November. Koch has worked at McLaren Port Huron for 17 years and currently works as a laundry aide.    Koch was nominated by her peers because She genuinely cares about her coworkers and our patients. She is always willing to do anything for anyone, including picking up shifts so that our patients are taken care of. She is a selfless person, never missing work and helping anyone whenever she can. Mary Ann is a team player, always getting the job done. Her coworkers can’t say enough about how helpful and valuable Mary Ann is to her department and the hospital.  This employee recognition is given to individuals who consistently live the values, mission and performance standards of McLaren Port Huron.
