A two-vehicle crash happened last Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Germania and West Sanilac roads, in Sanilac County. An 18-year-old Marlette woman driving a Kia Soul stopped at a stop sign but then moved into the path of a Ford Escape driven by a 68-year-old woman from Perry. Both vehicles ended up in a ditch. All occupants, including a passenger from the Kia, were taken to Marlette Regional Hospital, with one later transferred to McLaren Lapeer. Alcohol was ruled out as a cause.

Residents of Chatham-Kent came together in Dresden on Sunday to form a human chain protesting the York1 landfill project. The peaceful event stretched about two kilometers from the inactive dump site on Irish School Road to Dresden Area Central School.
