Imlay Man Arrested for Accosting Child with Immoral Intent

Imlay City Police have arrested a 58-year-old local man, Zeb Eugene-Lee Breeding, for allegedly accosting a child with immoral intent. Breeding was apprehended on October 29th in the Kroger parking lot after police investigation, which also led to additional charges of sodomy and using the internet to commit a crime. If convicted on all charges, he could face up to 34 years in prison. After his arraignment, he was held in Lapeer County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

Fort Gratiot Man Killed on 24th Avenue

A tragic incident occurred Tuesday night in Fort Gratiot when a man was struck and killed by a vehicle. The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office was called just before midnight to 24th Avenue, where deputies found the man lying in the road. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities determined the man had been walking north in the right lane when a Chevrolet Silverado, also traveling north, struck him from behind. The 62-year-old driver from Deckerville remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with law enforcement.

Port Huron City Council Election

In Port Huron’s city council election, two incumbents, Sherry Archibald and Teri Lamb, secured re-election, with Archibald leading the pack. Archibald, who works with the St. Clair County Child Abuse and Neglect Council, and Lamb, both earned strong support, with Archibald receiving 4,552 votes. Joining them will be Barbara Payton, who secured second place with 3,701 votes. With Mayor Anita Ashford’s victory, the council now faces a vacant seat, and an appointment will be made soon.

The Drug Task Force knows that illegal drugs and firearms often coexist, creating a dangerous environment. Sheriff Mat King emphasizes that by removing illegal firearms, they can reduce violent crime in the area. King thanked residents for their support.
