Man Faces 30 Felony Counts

A Tuscola County man is behind bars after a Michigan State Police investigation led to 30 felony charges tied to child exploitation. Authorities say 24-year-old James Arthur Goudie was arrested Thursday after investigators seized digital evidence showing he was sharing abusive material online. Charges include aggravated possession and distribution of child sexually abusive content, along with using a computer to commit the crimes. Goudie was arraigned with bond set at $200,000. He’s due back in court tomorrow for a preliminary hearing.

Over two years, she boosted FAFSA completion rates from 30% to 47%, making college more accessible for many first-generation and low-income families. Now, due to nationwide AmeriCorps funding cuts, Savedra’s role—and others like hers—have been eliminated, leaving students without critical support. Savedra has joined St. Clair County Community College to continue helping students, but she warns the impact won’t be the same.
