Kimball’s Brand Source Transforms Black Friday Into Giving Weekend, Supporting Blue Water Recovery & Outreach Center

Kimball Appliance, located at 945 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron is turning the hustle of Black Friday and Small Business Saturday into a weekend of generosity. This year, the event is dedicated to the Blue Water Recovery & Outreach Center (BWROC), a vital support for those on the path to recovery from addiction. 

Kimball Appliance will be featuring store-wide discounts on appliances, mattresses, furniture, and more all at the lowest prices of the year. Importantly, 10% of the proceeds will be directed towards BWROC. 

Shoppers are encouraged to join the cause on November 24th or 25th, backing the local connection to recovery. Kimball Appliance also welcomes donations to further support the initiative.

Community Unites To Grant Terminally Ill Child One Last Christmas Wish

The Tires and Treads Community Project is rallying local support to fulfill the heartfelt Christmas wish of Leo, a terminally ill 8-year-old boy. Leo’s mother, with the hope of giving her son one more Christmas, is seeking assistance from kind-hearted individuals willing to provide gifts for Leo and his three siblings, aged 15, 3, and 2.

The project organizer, Fran Morris, is urging the community to come together and help make this Christmas celebration a reality for Leo and his family. Gifts can be donated in person by contacting the organizer for pickup, or they can be sent via Amazon to the Tires and Treads Community Project at 7114 Imlay City Rd. Clyde, MI 48049. 

As the community unites to bring joy to Leo and his family during a challenging time, the spirit of giving shines brightly, showing the power of compassion and support.

Blue Water Area Calendar 2024 Unveiled, Showcasing Local Photographer Talent

The highly anticipated Blue Water Area Calendar for 2024 has been officially released by Citizens for a Vibrant Community (CVC), following a successful Calendar Release event in October. This unique calendar, a labor of love from 44 local photographers, captures the picturesque beauty of St. Clair County through their lenses.

The selection committee faced a challenging task but ultimately chose 13 outstanding photographs for the calendar and honored 12 submissions with honorable mentions. The final result is a visual celebration of the region’s diverse landscapes, showcasing the talent of local photographers. Each calendar is available for purchase at $6 each and will be on sale until supplies are gone.

Blue Water Recovery Center Celebrates To Host 3rd Annual “ROC With Us” Banquet

Blue Water Recovery & Outreach Center (BWROC) is delighted to announce a significant milestone, having assisted more than 5,000 individuals in their journey toward recovery from addiction. 

As a token of their appreciation, BWROC invites the community to their 3rd annual “ROC with Us” Banquet Fundraiser, scheduled for Tuesday, November 28th, at Alexander’s Banquet Hall located at 1200 Gratiot Blvd, Marysville.

The event, set to kick off at 5:30 p.m., will highlight the remarkable work being done at BWROC while expressing gratitude to all involved. Additionally, the inaugural ROC AWARDS will honor outstanding contributors in four different categories. 

Guests can anticipate a delightful evening with dinner, live music by local musician Julianne Ankley, a video presentation, silent auction, and updates on BWROC’s “Partners in Recovery” Program.

Port Huron Old Newsboys Hosts “Bowl 4 Kids” Fundraiser

Port Huron Old Newsboys is thrilled to announce the upcoming “Bowl 4 Kids” event on Saturday, November 4th, at Port Huron Lanes located at 1718 Hancock Street, Port Huron. From 1 – 5 p.m., participants can enjoy two games of bowling with shoe rental included, all for just $20 per ticket.

This charitable event aims to raise funds for a noble cause, with every $60 contributing to a child’s clothing essentials. The organization encourages community members to join in the fun and support local kids in need. 

The Old Newsboys organization has been raising money to buy boots, socks and underwear for St. Clair County children in need at Christmas time for over 100 years.
