Port Huron Schools Endowment Fund Gears Up For 10th Annual Crosstown Showdown Fundraiser

The Port Huron Schools Endowment Fund is gearing up for its milestone 10th annual fundraiser, the Crosstown Showdown, scheduled for September 22nd. The event will coincide with the intense clash between the Port Huron High and Port Huron Northern football teams. 

The fund, established in 2010, aims to support classroom grants, student programs, and college access initiatives for Port Huron teachers and students from Pre-K through 12th grade.

This year’s Crosstown Showdown will feature a special pregame tribute to honor the contributions of each of the nation’s military branches, including the esteemed Veterans who serve on the staff at Port Huron Schools. 

The deadline for sponsorships is September 18th, so the community is encouraged to show their support and make a positive impact on local education.

Football fans and philanthropists alike can contribute to their community’s health care needs by purchasing tickets for the upcoming January game against the Minnesota Vikings. Tickets, available at a discounted rate, will help in giving back, with $5 from every purchase directly benefiting VNA & Blue Water Hospice.

While the game’s precise date will be revealed post-Week 17, it’s estimated to be around December 31st, the partnership guarantees not only an exciting match but also vital support for charity care and room & board at the Blue Water Hospice Home.

Michigan’s Runaway Bride Fun Run Returns For A Heartwarming 5K FUNdraiser Supporting A Beautiful Me

The highly anticipated Runaway Bride Fun Run is making a comeback for a wedding-themed 5K Run and 2 Mile Walk FUNdraiser. The event aims to raise funds for A Beautiful Me, a Michigan-based nonprofit empowering young women with confidence-building programs.

The Runaway Bride kicks off at 8:00 am on Saturday, August 12th, at the scenic DoubleTree by Hilton in Port Huron, offering participants a breathtaking route along the picturesque St. Clair River.

Runners and walkers are encouraged to dress up creatively, ranging from brides and grooms to tutus and matching outfits. The 5K portion will be timed, with trophies awarded for best-dressed bride, couple, and wedding party.

Get ready for a delightful experience as Marwood Nursing & Rehab presents its 15th annual Men & Women Who Cook fundraising event on Wednesday, August 16th. This year’s theme is “Gourmet Breakfast for Dinner,” promising a unique culinary adventure that guests won’t want to miss.

The event will feature a variety of mouthwatering dishes prepared by talented chefs from your favorite local organizations and businesses including Josh Chapman, Lisa Beedon, Scott Shigley, and many more. In addition to the culinary delights, attendees can also enjoy a silent auction, an Electric Bike raffle, and music provided by Ultimate Sounds DJs.
