A deadly crash occurred early Friday morning on westbound I-94 near Church Rd. Deputies responded to reports of a blue Dodge Charger speeding eastbound in the westbound lanes. Shortly after, a two-car collision was reported involving the Charger and a Ford Explorer. The driver of the Charger, a 28-year-old man from Harper Woods, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 32-year-old Flint man driving the Explorer was rushed to McLaren Macomb in critical condition. The highway was closed for hours as authorities investigated.

Commuters in the Richmond and New Haven area should prepare for $3.2 million in roadwork along M-19. The Michigan DOT is upgrading nearly 6 miles of M-19 between New Haven and 31 Mile roads.
