Fort Gratiot’s Blue Water Cruise Weekend brought classic cars, food, and family fun to town. The event kicked off Friday evening with Cruise Night, where locals visited 15 businesses for food specials and music. Saturday featured the Keith Peterson Memorial Car Show at Birchwood Mall, showcasing up to 70 classic cars and awarding prizes. Live music, a pin-up contest, and a charity raffle supporting Healing Hearts Home Care added to the festivities. The carnival rides at Birchwood Mall ran through Sunday, making it a full weekend of summer fun for all ages.

Rare Summer Lighthouse Tours Return

Port Sanilac’s historic lighthouse will open for limited public tours every Friday from July 4th through August 29th. For $10, guests can climb the tower, enjoy lake views, and explore the nearby Loop-Harrison Mansion. Proceeds support the Port Sanilac Lighthouse Conservancy and the Sanilac County Historical Society. Built in 1886, the lighthouse normally stays closed, making these summer tours a rare local treat. Sarnia is set to celebrate Canada Day in style on Tuesday with all-day fun split between Canatara and Centennial Parks.
